| The purpose of the CECSF is to administer available CEC funds through the award of scholarships to worthy graduate students who are attending universities in the United States and studying in various defined fields of Cryogenic Engineering or Cryogenic Technology. | ||||||||
| The objective of the CECSF is to develop and foster increased interest and participation in fields of Cryogenic Studies and to encourage future engineers and scientists in these areas. | ||||||||
| The CECSF committee comprised of a sitting CEC Board member and three appointed members, one each from Laboratory, University, and Industrial backgrounds. The committee will accept applications of eligible recipients, evaluate the candidates background, field of study, and will award specific amounts to each recipient. | ||||||||
| The award will be paid directly to the student's college/university, and can only be used to cover the cost of educational expenses. As a condition of the award, the student must sign an award agreement that describes the requirements and responsibilities of the student. | ||||||||
| The scholarship will be announced during the Awards Luncheon at Cryogenic Engineering Conference in the year it is awarded. If an award is continued during a year in which no conference is held, announcement of the continuation award will be made at the next conference. If the conference is held on a date after the start of the academic year, the award will be sent to the university or college at the appropriate time. | ||||||||
| The Application deadline is June 1 for awards to be granted by September 1 of the same year. Renewal applications must also be submitted by June 1. Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria at the time of the application submittal. | ||||||||
